Moments in Nature
In today’s day and age, many of us spend most of our time inside. Through no fault of our own, our lives have become exceptionally busy and most of our tasks have to be completed indoors. This has resulted in many people having an incredible disconnect from nature, which can inhibit positive mental and physical health. However, making the effort to simply increase your time outside can be a powerful tool in repairing this disconnect and continuing on your wellness journey.
How does getting outside improve physical and mental health?
Being indoors can be rough on us, mentally and physically. Oftentimes the combination of bright lights, poor ventilation, loud sounds and many other factors can result in incredible mental fatigue, trouble focusing, and even anxiety. When in nature, however, our bodies naturally relax. Studies have shown that taking just a few moments to breathe in some fresh air can have a significant positive impact on many aspects of our well-being.
Fresh air can help you

- Stand outside with the sun on your face or take off your shoes to feel the grass in between your toes. If the weather isn’t great, take a few minutes to gaze out a window at the scenery outside.
- Go out for a stroll and take some deep breaths. You could even eat your lunch outside or take a phone call or meet outdoors.
