Workshop Description:

Have you ever wondered what an equine assisted psychotherapy session looked like? Then join us for this hands-on workshop at Bluemont Equine Sanctuary. Participants will engage in a hands-on demonstration mimicking a psychotherapy session. At this training participants will learn the basics of equine behavior, its benefits in the therapeutic setting, various intervention techniques, how to refer clients, and what further training is needed to do this type of work.

Important Information: No prior horse experience is needed for this workshop. This workshop will take place on a rescue farm and will include direct contact with the animals. Participants are required to wear close-toed shoes and long pants are recommended. Porta Potty facilities will be available on site.

Participants will need to sign a waiver for this event. Click HERE to complete the “Event Forms”. Please print and fill out, then bring them with you on the day of the event.
